Description of Circuit glace de Flaine
Located at an altitude of 1,600 metres, here the sun is conspicuous by its absence – a feature that ensures the quality of the surface from early December until almost the end of March. Considered a reference, the circuit has 2 layouts: 1,000 or 1,500 metres long and 10 to 15 metres wide, reproducing the main difficulties of a mountain road: long bends, hairpins, climbs and descents.
Resurfaced daily, the surface changes with the weather, from the purest ice to cold, light powder snow, as well as very wet and heavy spring snow – situations you also meet on the roads throughout the winter.
To welcome you, a cosy 100 m² building in traditional wood, with a warmly heated reception room (coffee, tea...) and a 50 m² classroom equipped with video equipment, a whiteboard, a video projector, etc.
