Balocco Proving Ground FCA - Informations

Covering about 6 km² in north-west Italy, halfway between Turin and Milan, the iconic Balocco proving ground was opened in 1962 by Alfa Romeo.
The main track, the Misto Alfa Romeo, is inspired by Formula 1 World Championship circuits, with replicas of Monza's main curve (the Curva di Biassono), the first of Monza's two Lesmo curves and the Hugenholtzbocht hairpin at Zandvoort in the Netherlands. In the past, the Balocco circuit was used to test production models, but also to develop Alfa Romeo racing cars before sending them to the world's most prestigious circuits.
Over the years, the centre has continued to grow and develop, in terms of both test tracks and facilities, with 26 different tracks totalling 80 km and more than 50 types of surface. It operates 24 hours a day for 200,000 hours of testing each year, and is today a world reference for product development and for organising prestigious international events.
