Description of TT Circuit Assen
Assen is the only venue to have hosted a round of the motorcycle World Championship every year since its creation in 1949. The circuit was purpose-built for the Dutch TT in 1955, previous events having been held on public roads. The track is narrow, with fast changes of direction, and is entirely surrounded by grass banks and grandstands, giving excellent views to the hundreds of thousands of passionate spectators drawn each year to the most prestigious event in Dutch motorsport. A big favourite with riders, Assen is famous for its festive, extravagant atmosphere.
