Description of Circuit Paul Ricard (Le Castellet)
This new circuit is located on the site of the "classic" Circuit Paul Ricard, but it has been completely redeveloped since it was bought by Bernie Ecclestone.
It is an exceptional setting for testing "top-level" vehicles such as F1 and sports prototypes, as well as for testing by car manufacturers, many of whom have already come here to present new models.
The site is also regularly used for press launches, and the photos taken there are of course a huge hit.
The track is famous for no longer having classic gravel traps, but huge run-off areas (and that is an understatement) whose surface not only changes colour but also offers very high grip, which slows cars down without damaging anything other than a set of tyres.
