Has your instructor been telling you to "brake later" for three seasons? Maserati may have found a more patient colleague. In late October, in Tampa (Florida), Maserati Corse unveiled project Track Assist by AS.CAR.I, a digital trainer that steps in on braking and acceleration when driving on track, and works out the ideal braking points for each circuit. It does not replace the driver: it coaches them. It comes from AS.CAR.I, a start-up founded in 2023 by Politecnico di Milano researchers who specialise in autonomous racing. Tested on a 640 hp GT2 Stradale, it is not finished yet: it is due to equip Master Maserati courses from 2027. Its decisive edge over humans: it never sighs over the intercom.
